Hanna Porter

Director

Hanna is the Director and Founder of ExecConnect. Born and raised in Rock Hill, SC, she has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, having started multiple businesses of her own that aimed to bring joy to and help others. This passion for positively impacting lives inspired her to pursue ExecConnect with the goal of giving back to her home state.

Hanna Porter, Director

Through ExecConnect, Hanna is actively involved with many organizations in the area. She is committed to connecting professionals to these organizations, ultimately supporting the initiative of giving back to the community and the state. Hanna believes in the importance of building up the community and strives to make a difference, hoping that those who live here will love and care about it as much as she does. She hopes to see ExecConnect make an impact throughout South Carolina!

Hanna currently resides in West Ashley with her husband, Morris, who owns a local construction company, and their playful Boykin Spaniel, Cash, the state dog of South Carolina. Hanna is an avid food enthusiast who loves the vibrant and diverse food scene in Charleston, appreciating how the city’s culinary diversity reflects the growing diversity of Charleston itself. She also enjoys cooking and hosting her own gatherings for friends and family. Additionally, Hanna loves interior design and helping others make their homes feel like them. Hanna and her family seek out opportunities to travel, go to the beach, and explore everything Charleston has to offer.

She holds a degree in biology and business from Wofford College and a master’s degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. Hanna looks forward to raising a family in Charleston, continuing to contribute to the city’s growth and well-being!

Amanda Felder

Operations Manager

Amanda is a native Charlestonian with a professional background in Historic Preservation. She is passionate about sharing her hometown with others and building meaningful relationships.

Amanda Felder, Operations Manager

Amanda is our team’s native Charlestonian! After spending two years studying International Relations in Washington, D.C., she returned to her hometown with a passion for preserving the places and stories that make the Lowcountry unique. She earned degrees in Historic Preservation and Political Science from the College of Charleston, further deepening her advocacy of the city’s rich history, which she poured into local non-profits for almost 2 decades. 

Amanda lives West of the Ashley River with her husband and their three sons. She embraces Charleston’s outdoor lifestyle year-round, whether running along the West Ashley Greenway and Cooper River Bridge or enjoying her favorite local beaches—Folly, Edisto, and Sullivan’s Island. A lifelong history enthusiast, Amanda enjoys documentaries, genealogical research, and non-fiction literature which make her a vault of “nickel knowledge.”

She is always ready to share fascinating facts and form connections. Outgoing and energetic, Amanda thrives on engaging with others and deeply values diversity and inclusion. Amanda is dedicated to preserving Charleston’s rich and complex history while enthusiastically invested in its future!

Scott

Scott Grigg

Onsite Guide

Scott joins the team as an Onsite Guide after more than 40 years of experience working in radio, television, politics, public relations and teaching. Most recently, Scott taught business communications and English in Berlin, Germany, for three years. He’s also a member of the Charleston Tour Association and the Preservation Society of Charleston.

Scott Grigg, Onsite Guide

Most of Scott’s professional experience has been in public relations for a number of Fortune 500 companies ranging from Ford Motor Company to MGM Resorts International and Scana Corporation which owned the former South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G).

Along with his public relations experience, Scott Grigg worked as a freelance media trainer for over 20 years with Bock and Associates, Inc., a Detroit, Michigan area firm which trained high-ranking executives in crisis communications and had his own reputation marketing firm. Scott also worked in Detroit television as a science reporter and weekend meteorologist, winning an Emmy for science reporting. In addition, he also served as a spokesman for a former Michigan Governor, and was a spokesman in Michigan for former presidential candidates.

Scott has three daughters, all in their twenties and thirties, and two grandchildren. He lives in James Island and when he’s not working for ExecConnect, he can be found giving historical tours of Charleston as a certified Charleston Tour Guide. Scott also volunteers with his church on their Johns Island campus and in his spare time he loves to play pickleball, bicycle, kayak, hike, and take road trips exploring the Southeast. He’s also a former scuba diver and private pilot who flew Cessna and Piper airplanes.

Katie Heath

Onsite Guide

Katie fell in love with Charleston after visiting a college friend who was stationed in the Holy City back in 2005. The rich history, amazing food scene, beaches and laid-back living are what drew her to Charleston. She graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Business Marketing and spent several years in sales before taking time to raise a family. She is excited to be a part of the ExecConnect team and showcase all of what the Charleston area has to offer!

Katie Heath, Onsite Guide

Katie resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband, five kids and one crazy dog. With children involved in competitive tennis and musical theater much of her life is spent either at the tennis courts or the theater! In her spare time Katie loves to create a feeling of home, whether that be through cooking and entertaining, decorating, creating small traditions with her family or gardening. She wants everyone who walks through her door to feel like family!

Katie graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Business Marketing. After living in the DC area for several years after graduation, she and her husband were looking for a slower pace of life and a place where they could put down roots and raise a family. Charleston offered everything they were looking for from outdoor activities to a thriving downtown scene and most importantly, water!

After taking 16 years to raise a family Katie is excited to enter back into the workforce doing something she loves, showcasing all of the amazing things the Charleston area has to offer!

Karen brings a wealth of experiences to the ExecConnect team with her background in Industrial Management/Industrial Engineering, focused in Supply Chain. Karen is passionate about helping others and enjoys the sense of community, which has shaped her professional and personal life.

Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Karen and her husband have residences in both Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC. She graduated from Clemson University and currently resides in Hollywood, SC, where she enjoys the tranquil suburban life. Her knowledge of Charleston is vast, especially when it comes to beaches, volunteering opportunities, and events like the Cooper River Bridge Run.

Karen enjoys spending time with her two adult children, frequents the beach on weekends, and loves dining at local favorite spots such as Bear-e Patch, Tavern-n-Table, and High Cotton, and visiting Charleston’s rooftop bars. Outside of work, Karen is an avid shopper and enjoys attending local museums and festivals.

With a strong commitment to wellness, joy, and community, Karen is excited to connect with others who share her passion for giving back.

Karen Mennuti-Raju grew up vacationing on Isle of Palms, where the Lowcountry always felt like home to her. She is thrilled to have finally made Mt. Pleasant her home over seven years ago and loves showcasing all that the Lowcountry has to offer. Raised on a cattle farm in rural Virginia, Karen attended Virginia Tech and studied Hospitality and Tourism Management before moving to South Florida, where she spent 20 years in the financial services industry.

Karen’s passion for hospitality has been a lifelong pursuit. She loves to cook, bake, and entertain, with bread baking being one of her favorite activities. She is happiest making people comfortable and anticipating their needs so they can relax and unwind. Karen’s love for making others feel at home is what drove her family to establish a hospitality group, which now includes multiple award-winning restaurants.

Karen resides with her husband, Ty, who works in consulting and is also a certified sommelier, making for enjoyable wine tastings with friends. They share their home with two Chocolate Labs and two cats. Tapping into her farming roots, gardening is another of Karen’s passions. She enjoys tending to her garden whenever possible and loves to share the bounty with friends and family. She has a wonderful “bonus daughter” who works for the family hospitality group.

With a deep love for the Lowcountry and a rich background in hospitality, Karen continues to embrace and share the vibrant culture and charm of the area she calls home.
